Skinny Kitty Meditations- 168 days in our fat cat challenge.
A simple walking meditation today~
The Buddhists prescribe and teach a walking meditation but mine was a little different. Okay it was hugely different. I find that walking or doing any type of repetitive task can be a time to find a meditative and contemplative mind.
It’s a beautiful day here today, with a high of 55* and the sun is pouring down like liquid lemon.
The slight breeze just accentuated my walk as I noticed the birds chirping away, a sign of spring.
You can use a mantra as you walk or simply concentrate on the feel of your feet touching the ground as you step. Being in the moment is a wonderful way to release stress and connect back with your focus.
Research has shown that after light or moderate exercise we are able to focus better.
Salvadore Kitty watched me as I walked out the door, peering from his perch in the front window, I could tell he was a bit jealous.
What came to me while doing this meditation is that sometimes you need a break from your regular routine and walking outside is a great way to move from one environment to another.
A change of scenery is good for the spirit. If you wish you could even practice the unified heart chakra while walking.
When I came back, I was refreshed and renewed to continue working on my recent article that follows yesterdays, First Steps Toward Our Consciousness .
Step out and breath in the fresh air!
I feel like a shiny kitty pruning in the sun!
